Condat Thermal Solar Plant - France

Inaugurated on June 21st, 2019, Condat-sur-Vézère’s solar thermal plant is the largest solar thermal plant in France, & in Europe for the industrial process. It is also a unique project, the first in the world to feature flat-plate collectors on trackers.

Each tracker carries four 16sqm Savosolar collectors, maximizing the heat production thanks to the tracking system.

Initiated and developed by NewHeat, with the support of ADEME, this project will provide about 4,000MWh/year of heat to the local paper mill LECTA. Our customer Savosolar acted as the EPC contractor.

“We are delivering solar hot water for preheating the steam boilers so we can lower the fossil energy requirements of this process by nearly 40 %.”
- Hughes Defréville, Managing Director of NewHeat.

ArcelorMittal Projects Exosun has designed and delivered the trackers and was also in charge of their installation on site: foundations, assembly & commissioning.
