High-strength foundation elements

Steel micropiles, also known as tubes, are foundation elements constructed using high-strength, small-diameter steel casing and/or threaded bars.

Micropiles are composed out of short section lengths which can be linked to the desired lengths.

The use of micropiles

Micropiles are mainly used in confined spaces, for instance in buildings. Here they can be applied to strengthen or replace the foundations, or to build cellars under existing buildings.

Advantages of micropiles

  • Vibration-free
  • Flexible in use
  • Easily installed within confined spaces
  • Relatively high axial load capacity
