ArcelorMittal Projects is looking for a commercially minded Technical Sales Engineer to join our team!

As an operational Business Unit, ArcelorMittal Projects is the global sales organization of steel foundation products such as pipes and sheet piling.

In order to meet the requirements for steel deliveries for complex projects (e.g. in civil engineering and foundations), ArcelorMittal Projects has an extensive international network of stock locations, sales offices and manufacturing and production facilities.

For the development of optimized solutions, ArcelorMittal Projects offers technical support such as:

  • making a geotechnical preliminary design
  • optimizing steel foundation designs
  • the development of piling plans
  • special advice, etc.

Through its international network, ArcelorMittal Projects guarantees its customers an optimal solution for civil engineering projects by supplying tailor-made steel packages, together with an extensive range of services.

What are you going to do?

As a Technical Sales Engineer you will increase the sales area for the products of ArcelorMittal Projects Europe. This is achieved by presenting the technical possibilities to governments and engineering firms at an early stage, and by working with them in the preliminary phase towards the right alternatives.

You convert possible solutions devised by customers into the most economical alternatives aimed at your own stock and production possibilities. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you are also a sparring partner for customers in design and additional research. You are well aware of trends, market movements and specific projects, and are able to translate technical market developments into sales opportunities for steel foundation solutions.

Your work

The Technical Sales Engineer has an independent and proactive role to fulfill the above objective as well as possible. Personal responsibility, creativity, solution orientation and social skills are essential to be able to fulfil this role properly. Activities include:

  • Developing and maintaining a network with engineering firms, (semi-) governments, with the aim of;
    - identifying new/upcoming projects at home and abroad | introducing
    new products | identifying and researching technical market developments
  • Development of innovative foundation solutions related to infrastructural works.
  • Ensure that everyone involved in the design process is aware of our latest developments
  • Handling claims with a technical basis
  • Assistance with technically demanding orders and maintenance of contacts with all parties involved
  • Representation of ArcelorMittal in research projects and standards committees
  • Devising alternative solutions for improved offer position
  • Visits to prospects, network meetings, trade fairs, etc.
  • Communicating with the client or client about the progress of the project
  • Communication with other ArcelorMittal sites

What do you need to fill this role?

You are a person who has followed a technical study, but consciously chooses to use this knowledge in a commercial advisory role. Your built-up network (through work and/or education) is just as important as your technical knowledge. You are therefore communicative and like to make and maintain contacts. You do not wait for the work to come to you but create the possibilities yourself.

Are you the right candidate?

  • Education TU Civil Engineering or several years of experience as a work planner / project leader in civil engineering (road and hydraulic engineering) and at least HTS Construction / Civil as a completed education.
  • Commercially minded
  • English and German is an Advantage
