As Production Manager, you will join our international team of dedicated professionals worldwide with a common goal and passion – to provide complete and sustainable steel solutions to our customers. Do you have what it takes?

As Production Manager, you will work at our Spiral Mill. The mill produces spirally welded pipes for foundation applications such as waterfront structures, underground construction, and infrastructure. You will lead and coordinate the work of the production unit, take care of the machinery, and manage and support the production staff. You will report to the Operations Manager.


What you’ll be doing

Leadership

  • Manage 20 to 25 employees
  • Conduct work consultations
  • Promote good cooperation among employees
  • Ensure the best possible staffing levels
  • Absenteeism registration
  • Performance and assessment interviews
  • Establish and, if necessary, improve training and education, evaluate them for quality
  • Present and explain corporate, departmental and personal objectives to employees
  • Hire permanent and temporary workers
  • Ensure policy translation and implementation

Organisation of work

  • Ensuring that work is carried out according to established working methods and within procedures, rules and instructions
  • Translating the customer order into workable formats for the production hall
  • Understanding the costs/revenues of the production hall
  • Responsible for the output of the production unit both qualitatively and quantitatively
  • Ensuring the management of available stock
  • Monitor that product quality is within set standards, coordinate required control
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Set departmental objectives in consultation with the operations manager and operations director
  • Make proposals to improve equipment through maintenance, repair or purchase
  • Recording deviations in products, processes and systems and taking measures to prevent them
  • Solving problems caused by delays in material delivery, breakdowns and or understaffing

Production process

  • Prioritising maintenance and production
  • Securing the production process
  • Takes care that maintenance is done
  • Securing the logistics process within production
  • Preventing and solving, if necessary, quality problems
  • Adhering to the work instructions and procedures, partly drafted by him
  • Reporting deviations/accidents and near misses
  • Maintain production and logistics records in the appropriate computer programmes

Communication

  • Supply departments with specific customer requirements and delivery times
  • Instructing and motivating employees
  • Explaining and communicating policy on procedures and regulations to staff
  • Communicate with clients on quality, orders, technical issues and delivery time
  • Update the Operations Manager / director on proposals to improve methods and staffing / absenteeism / training needs
  • Ensure good communication and cooperation with other ArcelorMittal Projects departments
