In the role of Finance Controller, you will be part of our team in the Caucasus & Central Asia region. You will be responsible for driving and protecting the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control, performance, and sustainable growth.

The Finance Controller is responsible for designing and implementing the company’s financial strategy, framework and structures, as well as implementing and identifying risks and opportunities behind financial data. The role offers a large amount of autonomy.

Background & skills

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of accounting/ tax/ regulatory rules in Georgia, IFRS knowledge
  • Advanced MS Excel/PowerPoint skills
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and accurate with a sense of urgency to complete projects
  • Independent, proactive with strong initiative and positive working attitude
  • Able to organise and prioritise tasks well and work to tight deadlines or under pressure without close supervision
  • Good time management skills
  • Will drive/execute key initiatives and see them through to successful implementation
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with employees of all levels
  • Languages: fluent English, Georgian, and Russian are a must, other European languages are a plus

Preferred skills for your future success

  • International finance experience
  • Professional certification (ex: Certified Public Accountant)

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for finalisation of accounts as per IFRS & local legislation and BPM reporting on time.
  • Prepare and provide weekly reports, monthly flash, P&L, quarterly forecasts, dashboard, presentations, budget, multiyear plans and others.
  • Monitor, and analyse company financial indicators/ performance / liabilities / investment / risks on a periodic basis and vs budgeted forecast, in order to identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
  • Responsible for all cash management, capex, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organisation.
  • Tracking and management of internal/ external audit reports, Super Key control, impairment testing, stock ageing, and slow mover analysis.
  • Coordinating with the business division finance team for approval of LC, BG, banking limits, renewal of guarantees / comfort letters, and loans. Review of banking line utilisation by sites.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of banks, cash and other current assets.
  • Ensure our company's compliance with ROC (Registrar of Companies); make certain of timely filings of annual forms and returns and ensure timely updating of statutory books and records.
  • Ensure compliance with all direct and indirect tax legislations in order to ensure timely deposition of all taxes and filing of statutory tax returns.
  • Interact with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure the company has strong financial management and process automatisation.
  • Other related activities under management request.
